For too long, life insurance has shut out people who are under care, stable on treatment, and thriving. Traditional underwriting labels them as “uninsurable,” relying on outdated mortality assumptions instead of modern medicine.

At Kibou, we’re changing that.

We use real-world clinical data, actuarial rigor, and tech-enabled underwriting to open up access, starting with a few conditions, and expanding as we grow. Our goal is simple but bold: make life insurance fair and accessible for people who’ve been unfairly excluded.

Kibou means “hope” in Japanese. We’re here to bring hope, and coverage, to the millions who’ve been told no.

Who We Cover Today

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML)

Thanks to daily targeted therapy (TKIs), many CML patients now live near-normal lifespans. We underwrite applicants in chronic phase, on treatment, and in molecular remission.

HIV+

With sustained ART adherence and viral suppression, modern HIV+ adults can live long, healthy lives. We evaluate risk based on CD4 count, viral load, adherence, and comorbidities.

Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL)

For long-term survivors in remission, especially those treated at early stages, risk diminishes over time. We use remission-adjusted mortality modeling to offer fair access to coverage.
